With over 25 years of dedicated experience in mental health care, Lisa Maccario is a seasoned professional specializing in client-directed, trauma-focused crisis intervention, stabilization, and treatment. Her extensive expertise, supported by a Master of Education in Mental Health, has established her as a leader in creating and implementing community-based programs that help individuals during their most challenging times.
Lisa’s work transitioned from family and individual therapy with high-risk youth to enhancing behavioral health support with law enforcement in 2018, when the Beverly Police Department received grant funding from the Department of Mental Health, aimed to improve services across 6 North Shore police departments. Lisa’s role as a jail diversion clinician expanded in 2020 with additional funding to incorporate a second clinician into her team. Her integration within the Beverly Police Department Community Impact Unit allowed her to co-respond and offer crucial follow-up care to the citizens of Beverly, extending similar support to Ipswich residents as needed.
Beyond her primary role, Lisa is recognized for her expertise as a certified Critical Incident Service Management (CISM) Clinician through the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council. Her credentials include serving as a Trauma Response Clinician for the Massachusetts Crisis Response Team via Riverside Trauma Center and acting as a Behavioral Health Consultant and Trainer for Mindwise, Inc.
Her commitment to community well-being and safety is further evidenced by her active participation on advisory boards for Essex County Outreach and the Northeast Center for Occupational Health and Safety.
