Kirk Woodring

Kirk Woodring, LICSW is the Vice President of Ambulatory and Community programs for Beth Israel Lahey Behavioral Services. Mr. Woodring has 40 years of experience in the healthcare field, specializing in mental and behavioral health. He was previously the director of the Psychiatric Crisis Team in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and was formerly the Chief Clinical Officer of the Brattleboro Retreat, one of the nation’s Ivy League psychiatric hospitals, where he developed and supervised the Uniformed Services Program working with police officers experiencing work-related mental health challenges.

Mr. Woodring and was an adjunct professor at the Smith College School for Social Work for 22 years, and is the author of several articles and publications on mental health care, including the book “Assessing the Risk: Suicidal Behavior in the Hospital Environment of Care (HcPro, 2011). His 2019 Ted Talk, “Speaking of Suicide” is used across the country to discuss the impact of suicide. Mr. Woodring resides in Deerfield, Massachusetts.
