Course Description:
Public safety professionals encounter high levels of stress, trauma and critical incidents, which can take a toll on mental health. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) for Public Safety gives personnel the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use challenge and help connect them to the appropriate care. Mental Health First Aid teaches about recovery and resiliency – the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and use their strengths to stay well. This course is open to Law Enforcement, other First Responders and 911 Dispatchers.
